Spring riding has now fully set in at Mammoth. That means corn cycles, slush bumps, bluebird skies, short sleeve shirts, smiles and more. Perhaps temperatures are on the rise and the snow's melting quick but the relaxed atmosphere on the mountain quickly distracts one from the impending reality that the season's end is approaching.
It is apparent at this point that MMSA has decided to keep lifts rolling up through Memorial Day week-end. Granted this is an earlier closing date for Mammoth than we've seen in a while but we must not lose perspective. With something like 98% of all other N. America ski areas already closed, we've got it pretty good. The mountain's main terrain park is still open with a 1/2 pipe, a 65' table jump, and an array of other jib and jump features to play on. And, not to mention that there's still a ton of great riding to be had on the upper mountain. Yup, this is always a great time of the year to be at Mammoth; great weather and conditions, and no lift lines.
Well, it's a new week so check out the new photos in the Gallery. Also, for a quick look at the spring riding conditions be sure to check out the latest Clip of the Week as well as the WCI Video which recaps last week-end's West Coast Invitational snowboard events.
Wherever you may be, whatever you may be doing, we hope you too are enjoying great times and good laughs with good friends. 'Til next time. . .
