 NEWS: 4-2-07
What's the BIG news? Well, it's been in the works for some time, but the new OPP website is finally here. Kind of late, you jest? Late for what? Fact is, there's no better time than now. What is now? Now is the present and it is the best time there is. We live life now, all of us. Life is about living in the moment. Everyday, every moment is an opportunity to do something new, more, to progress, grow, and learn. In essence, everyday is an opportunity to live. That is what OPP is all about. We are passionate about life, just as we are passionate about what we do. What we do is who we are. We are skiers, snowboarders, photographers, filmers, graphic designers, and more.
OPP, a youthful film production company based out of Mammoth Lakes, CA, is an eclectic mix of individuals. All hailing from different origins, we have found a common home in the Eastern Sierra drawn together through a common bond. We are passionate about winter alpine sport and all the peculiarities of the life that surrounds it. We won't deny it; this is "the life." But, do know that "the life" is not all bluebird and powder; it is what it is: life. Life is the good with the bad, the ying and the yang. We learn to appreciate all the beauty in life and this world because of those less than perfect moments. The mosaic of life is like no other. It is so many threads of different stories all intersecting all at once that it's all too complex to ever fully understand.
What we do know is that there's always something to appreciate in everything. Appreciation is achieved through reflection and perspective. An essential medium for reflection and perspective is art. Art is creative expression found in infinite mediums and levels, everywhere, everyday. OPP is just that; an outlet of artistic creative expression, whether via film or the web. And, through regular updates to videos, gallery, and news we hope to continually share with you our creative interpretations of the world of alpine winter sport and ultimately of life.
Thank you for stopping by. We look forward to hearing your feedback on the new site. For comments, or any other contributions, please contact us.
Yours truly,
Colin Farrell
OPP President
