NEWS: 7-2-07

It's pretty safe to say that the off-season is in full effect now. Yet, for most SKIOPPS that means no slowing down. With alternate seasons come alternate activities. For some that means getting out on a lake for a little windsurfing or wakeboarding. Others prefer the thrill of ripping down trails on a mountain bike. In Lonnie Kauk's case, he prefers to keep the mind and body conditioned through rock climbing. And when it comes to climbing, Lonnie's the real deal.
In many Mammoth Area circles Lonnie has earned the reputation as a standout snowboarder, mastering both park and big-mountain riding. Funny thing though is that in many circles Lonnie is known even better for his spectacular climbing skills. Just this past week Lonnie earned the right to classify a 160' 5.13-C route on Tioga Pass with the title "Sacred Silence". And in case you were wondering, in layman's terms 5.13-C means "gnarly difficult". For a glimpse of Lonnie in action out at Tioga Pass from this past week be sure to check out the latest OPP Clip of the Week. But, in case you were wondering, for more on Lonnie's "Sacred Silence" you'll have to wait for OPP's forthcoming Fall 2007 release.
Sooo, otherwise, there are no new photos up in the OPP gallery this week. Sorry, its crunch time in the OPP studio as we work tirelessly to get together our next film. This perhaps answers the question for many that yes, we do have plans to release a new movie for Fall 2007. As far as the title of said film and trailer, we hope to have something out for you relatively soon. 'Til next time. . .
