Mammoth's chairlifts stopped running a week ago, snow at lower elevations is pretty much gone, boards and skis are being traded in for mountain bikes. . . the off-season has begun, right? Well, for some of us there really isn't an off-season.
Each year, once Mammoth's chairlifts whir to a stop, our focus shifts, slightly. With the arrival of the "off-season" it has become a bit of an OPP tradition to set sights on the woods and the few remaining patches of snow in the Mammoth Lake area. We will often combine mobile urban style rails with the forest environment. This past week proved that the tradition is alive and well as we set up one of our best forest jib combos yet.
As the saying goes, "a picture is worth a thousand words." Hence, have a look at the gallery because there are some great photos there that'll do a far better job of portraying this "off-season" activity. Also, check out the Clip of the Week for a quick sampling of this recreation. We should have some even better clips rolling your way soon.
